Logging In
Please always use the Log In link at the bottom of this site!
Select your home campus. Log in with your home campus credentials, and you’ll come back to the Amherst WordPress.
To go back to view the site, click My Sites at top right, then Visit Site.
Add a New Post
Click + New in the Top Toolbar > Post (not page!)
This is the editing screen. You can add a title, text, links, etc. To insert an image or image gallery, click “Add Media”. To embed a video or media, just paste in the URL (list of sites this will work with).
Scrolling down, check off or add a category as appropriate, or assign a tag to your post.
Set a Featured Image for your post, which will show as a thumbnail on the home page.
Be sure to Save a Draft as you’re working so you don’t lose work! You can also preview what your post will look like. When you’re done, click Publish. You can go back and edit your post at any time.
The Dashboard
You will come to the dashboard of your site. Make sure you see the name if the site next to the “home” icon. If you don’t, click “My Sites” and select the site from the list.
Over on the left, hover over “Posts”. You can view all posts, or add a new one.
This is the list of all posts. Note that you can only edit or delete your own posts. Click “Add New” to add a new post.
More Login Help
Woops- if you get an error after selecting a school, go back to the class WordPress site and use the direct link. The directing URL must start with “https”.
Double Woops- if you somehow end up at this screen, go back and use the link from the class site, or…
1) make sure the URL starts with “https” and not “http”.
2) Use the “Login with Five College account” link.
